Delicious. Ćevapi, vegetable soup, local wine. 3 hour dinner wherein we discussed everything down to maneuvering camera rigged weather balloons for near realtime imagery.

Climbed through an old office building that was bombed/shot out during the siege in the 90's. Harrowing views.

Old Bridge

A UNESCO heritage site, and the iconic image of Mostar, we stood alone on the bridge several times. The feeling of being the only person in the world standing on a UNESCO site was moving. We're travelers, not tourists.

The walk there was through a rebuilt neighborhood that resembled Palo Alto more than eastern Europe. Bar did not have Guinness.

Bus to Dubrovnik

Stunning bus ride through Bosnian wine country and through the mountains only to pop out on the Dalmatian Coast, which would rival Amalfi in my books. Turquoise sea and islands dotting the coastline.

Great place, amazing hostess. Majdas' sheer force of personality made this a wonderful stay. She greeted us at the bus station without having made arrangements for a pick-up.

We were handcuffed by the bus schedule in arriving to Mostar. We probably could have gotten by with one night here had we arrived in the morning of the 8th. That said, there's a lot to do around the city when the weather is nicer. For us though, in the fierce rain storm, we didn't maximize our time very well.

Squat toilets… they exist. Be prepared for them.
