This was by far the least-planned part of my trip. I never had any intention of coming to Chisinau until I learned that the cheapest way by far for me to return to Moscow would be from this city’s airport. Also, once I lost my access to my bank accounts I wanted to make sure I got somewhere where the living was cheap. Which it definitely is here.

There’s not a lot to see in Chisinau. But the people are friendly, the produce is amazing, the wine is delicious and it’s tough to find a bottle that costs more than $4. I could do worse :o).

I am down to one hair tie and one pen. It is time to go home.

I got up at 3 a.m. on Tuesday to catch my flight to Moscow. I have a 22 hour layover in Moscow, and then a three hour flight to Frankfurt, a five hour layover in Frankfurt, and a 10-hour layover home. Please don’t expect me to be in any sort of functional shape when I arrive there.

Have to be scheduled far in advance in Moldova. So instead, just buy a bunch of $2 bottles in the grocery store (you can get a good bottle of wine for that price) and throw your own party.
