I haven't been traveling alone on this trip. Everywhere I've gone, I've had a copy of Barack Obama's "The Audacity of Hope" tucked safely in my bag, waiting to be read. As long as you've got Barack in a Bag, you know that everything is okay, and hope is on the way.

Anyway. Third day of cycling was wet, and cold, and miserable. I took a ferry to Hiiumaa Island, pedaled my way 28 k through miserable wet weather, and rolled into Kardla in a sorry state. I got a place to stay, checked in, sat on the couch, and pulled out "The Audacity of Hope". I didn't do anything else but read it for the rest of the day.

There was a lot in the book that I liked, and a lot that gave me hope. But to put it in selfish terms, one of the things that gave me great reason to believe was that Obama was 26 when he decided to go to law school. Maybe there is still hope for me

My favorite part of "The Audacity of Hope" is this small introductory image of Barack Obama printing out his first letterhead. Reminds us we all have to start somewhere.

Dinner was out of the grocery store. To accompany it I picked up a bottle of this special stuff and man, it was worth the trip to Estonia just for that!
