Lucy and I are pretty sure we heard wolves in the middle of the night. We are off early this morning on a wolf watch.

Ate breakfast overlooking Old Faithful geyser basin. Then drove to the Madison Jr. Ranger station where Maggie and Lucy got their Yellowstone Jr. Ranger badges!

We just spent an awesome day at the geysers (or 'geezers' as they say in NewZealand) with are great friends the Riggs (Piggs) - Kari, Kelly, Max, and Ian. Once we got away from O.F. The crowds were manageable. After our 5 hour geyser exploration we relaxed with ice cream and beer at the Old Yellowstone Lodge - cheers!

The eight of us spent Friday searching the Hayden and Lamar Valleys for wildlife - and man, did our efforts pay off. We saw 2 mama grizzly bears, 5 grizzly cubs, and 2 young black bears. We also saw a wolf (or 2 different wolves) chasing a herd of elk. Then there were the many bison, a few coyotes, a jack rabbit, pronghorn, and numerous Jackalope sightings!

We spent Saturday just hanging out. Kari and I went for a morning run out to a lake and back, while the kids hung out at the beach and Aaron did laundry - like a good camper husband. We had high hopes of making it back to the geyser basin, but the beer beckoned! A day of showers, beer, whittling, catching leeches, a bit of fishing, visiting with good friends, and even a ranger show tossed in - a glorious day!

Today Aaron pleaded with the campground staff and they allowed us to squeeze in the Riggs for tonight. So we hauled everything over, the kids hung out at the beach, Kari and Karli went for a run, and the husbands did the dishes - yeah husbands!
We then had a quick lunch and made our way to the gesyer basin where we took a hike until we had to turn around due to a mosquito assault
Now we are all hanging out on the deck of the Old Faithful Inn drinking beers and eating ice cream - can you ask for anything more?
