Having a blast down here and want again to give a shout out to Alain and Leon for allowing me to stay at their condo. Great place in Playacar which is immediately south of Playa. Having been here a few times it amazes me how much the town changes each time. This is Cancun now with all the hotels and tourist. It used to be a sleepy little fishing town that a few tourists who would visit to get away from the mega resorts in Cancun. The population has gone from 20,ooo to 200,000+ in ten years and heard it was the fastest growing city in Mexico. Still enjoy the place and was able to reconnect with Alain's friend Ernesto who has been an incredible host. The beaches are pristine and the water warm. It rained Saturday which is probably good and was able to catch up on some sleep especially after enjoying the night life a little too much. Ernesto is trouble. And I can only say that in the most admirable way;). We hit the beach Sunday and was very nice but it is weird, the beaches are very Miami..ish. What happened to little beach bars and cheap cervezas? Now I am paying New York prices for the same view and disco music in the background. Looking forward to do some camping in Tulum just south and get a little more rustic. Don't get me wrong the night life is a blast but I am traveling, not on vacation. To that point, there is a difference. Most people have a limited time and spend countless dollars in a short period of time. Since I am traveling for months, I want to spend the least amount I can, which puts me at odds with the general pubic here. Ok not odds but different mentality. It is a wonderful respite though and my neck is starting to untighten and rear end starting to fell normal again.
As to when I am leaving thinking Tuesday, but not on motorcycle. Ernesto, Greg and I are talking about flying to a four letter country not far from here but, lets just say we really aren't supposed to be there, at least if you are American. Working out the details now.

First, let me thank Alain and Leon for their hospitality again. They have a beautiful place here (they just bought it and feel guilty since I have used it probably more than they have). So if anyone wants to rent a great condo in a great location email Alain at acastro@iev-ltd.com.
Second, I big shout out to Ernesto for being the impeccable "tour guide". If anyone needs any assistance with Playa Del Carmen especially with Real Estate or local connections he is your man. Extremely trustworthy and very well connected especially since he has and has had several businesses here. I know he would be more than happy to assist anyone so he has given full permission to allow his email to be circulated. He can be reached at etello@art-chi-tech.com.
And lastly, want to give thanks to the guys at Everlater (this blog site) for helping with some technical improvements. And for making me the featured story and on the front page! Thanks Greg and look forward to continue make you jealous.
So I am off to Tulum to camp on the beach. I can't believe I am going to camp especially after where I have been the last few days which wasn't much better and the fact I am staying in a brand new, beautiful three bedroom condo. I know...I know...I am a strange man.
Hasta Luega
