In Portugal, we visited the Jardim Zoologico, which is just outside the city center. There were many exotic plants and wildlife, and there were over 2,000 animals to see. Then, we took a bus to the Parque das Nações, where we enjoyed the scenic view of the riverside and the local artistic venues and cafes. For dinner, we went to the Clara, a restaurant taking the form of a comfortable mansion on a hillside. We enjoyed a dinner of seafood and fine wine, along with the warmth of a roaring fire. Afterwards, we rented a room in the Fontana Park Hotel, for a modest price of 90 euros.

We were exchanging currency, when we found out that the Euro is worth more than the Dollar. Luckily, we still had plenty of money, but definitely do the calculations before you go.

The bus was a little cramped, but it was okay. For some parts of our trip, we had to take a car, so we basically hired a taxi driver.

This club lets the audience take turns in singing fado, a type of music indigenous to that area. It was cool to hear the local's favorite music, but we didn't dare try to sing.
